Situated between the magnificent Outeniqua Mountains and unspoiled beaches of the Indian ocean, in the heart of the Garden Route, lies the 4000 ha Botlierskop Private Game Reserve.

The Manor House is within walking distance from the Main Lodge and situated between the Luxury Tented Suites. The Manor House has it’s own pool and Guests can make use of the Lodge Facilities, including the Fireplace Restaurant.

Botlierskop is only a 4.5-hour scenic drive from Cape Town

Please note children ages 6 and older are welcome. 

Rooms and Suites

Botlierskop Manor House offers 7 en-suite rooms, some with showers; and some with baths and showers.

Luxury Manor House Rooms are elegantly decorated in a contemporary country-style with mosquito nets and a small separate lounge area.

The Stable Manor House Rooms are located at the back of the Manor house close to the horse stables with partial views of the plains, elegantly decorated in a contemporary country-style with mosquito nets and a small lounge area.

The family / executive bedrooms are elegantly decorated in a contemporary country-style with mosquito nets and a separate lounge area with sleeper couches for kids

Cuisine and Wine

The Fire Place Restaurant is situated on a hilly outcrop with uninterrupted views of the bush and river. It has a spacious lounge and open plan dining room that lead out onto a wooden deck.

At dinner guests can indulge in fire cooked meals and to round off the evening, they can experience the rhythms of African men and their jembe drums.


The heated rim-flow swimming pool at the main lodge, with it's breath-taking views of the valley below, is balm for the soul. The large open-air deck seamlessly integrates the Fauna & Flora. The Manor House non-heated swimming pool overlook the plains and animal sightings are common.

If you have any cropped up energy or just want to relax, please feel free to make use of the tennis court situated at the foot of the Botlierskop hilltop. The tennis court can be used during the day or evening as it is equipped with lights. Tennis equipment can be hired from Botlierskop.

Activities Overview

Game Drives; A real Garden Route Safari experience! Enjoy close encounters with Rhinoceros, Lions (100ha enclosure), Buffalo, Giraffe, the rare Black Impala, Golden Wildebeest, Mountain Zebra, Hippos and more! Our Game Reserve is 3500ha and comprises of over 26 different species of animals and more than 200 bird species.

Horseback Safaris; Enjoy an exciting horseback safari and escape to the majestic mountain valleys and beautiful fynbos for a 1, 2 or 3 hour horse ride and experience nature like never before. Experience our diverse plant life including woodlands, coastal and mountain fynbos and spot free roaming wildlife (Cannot be guaranteed).  All experience levels welcome (child 6+).

Walking trails; Experience and enjoy the Garden Route's abundant fauna and flora on foot. Follow a Botlierskop field ranger as he tracks for 2 ½ hours through diverse habitats such as coastal renosterveldt and Cape fynbos. Chance to see wild animals while exploring the wonders of insects, ecology, birds (Knysna Touraco, African Fish-eagle, Jackal Buzzard and more) and the medicinal values of the plants.

Spa and Wellness

The Spa situated on the riverbank surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery consists of two treatment rooms named Fauna and Flora. The interior matches the exterior, bringing nature indoor but with a touch of elegance and comfort. Expect and experience the expertise of a professional therapists and relax with a massage catering to your every need in a serene environment.
